We hope you’ve heard of them, but in case you’ve been sleeping for the last decades, Starwood is one of the largest hotel groups in the world. With nine brands to its credit, it owns hotels in no less than 100 countries – including three hotels in Mauritius: St Regis Mauritius, Le Méridien, and the recently opened The Westin Turtle Bay Resort & Spa in Balaclava. It was therefore a great honour that the group entrusted us with the management of its collaterals as well as its restaurants identities at its newest The Westin.

We had to design identities for six bars and restaurants: Seasonal Tastes, Kangan, Fusion, Mystique, The Retreat and the Beach Grill. Each entity displays a unique character at The Westin Turtle Bay Resort & Spa, and we wanted the designs to reflect this uniqueness. While the Seasonal Tastes logo is fresh and uses light colours such as green and turquoise – reminiscent of the seasonal and healthy cuisine on offer – the logo of the Indian restaurant Kangan reveals a modern typography with a contemporary Indian touch – accentuated by the metal effect on the bronze letters. As for the Fusion logo, it was embellished by a circle graphic echoing the blend of cultures and flavours served at the restaurant. And yes, we made it bright pink! But our favourite range remains the Mystique logo. The letter “M” stood out and we immediately thought about Mauritius, Music and, of course, Martini! Quite pertinent for a bar, don’t you think? We thus used music beats in sunset colours, and it definitely looks like an invitation to chill at a hype bar…

Finally, the noble, amazing materials we chose for folders, lists and typography emulate the luxurious experience of Westin: Hessian, silk and metal effects, faux leather, driftwood, vinyl, engraved logo, UV Spots … It was important to meet the international standards of The Westin in terms of quality and details. Our sister company IPC did a great job in printing highly qualitative collaterals. From ideas to production, we are truly a one-stop-shop…!
